Apollo joins the Works With Home Assistant Program!

Apollo Automation Expands Open-Source Smart Home Solutions

Apollo Automation is proud to announce that we have officially joined the Works With Home Assistant program, certifying three of our newest ESPHome-powered smart home devices for seamless integration with Home Assistant. This certification ensures that our sensors provide the best possible experience, delivering reliable, local-first automation solutions to Home Assistant users worldwide.

First ESPHome-Based Devices to be Certified

Apollo is leading the way as the first company to have ESPHome-powered smart home sensors certified in the Works With Home Assistant program. This milestone highlights the growing trend of open-source smart home technology, where community-driven projects evolve into businesses that contribute to the Open Home ecosystem.

"Apollo Automation is built by and for the Home Assistant community. We believe in open smart home technology that gives users control, privacy, and flexibility. Joining the Works With Home Assistant program is a natural step for us, ensuring our devices integrate seamlessly while supporting the ecosystem we love. Home Assistant allows users to create powerful smart homes, and we are excited to contribute by making high-quality, reliable hardware that enhances the experience for everyone."

A Commitment to Open Smart Home Innovation

Apollo started by sharing designs for a compact ESPHome-powered multisensor, gathering feedback from the Home Assistant smart home community to refine and improve it. That collaborative development process resulted in our first product, which quickly became a favorite among Home Assistant users. Since then, we have continued this community-first approach, developing multiple advanced sensors designed for reliable home automation.

Certified Apollo Smart Home Devices

The Works With Home Assistant certification process is different from other programs. Products undergo rigorous in-house testing to ensure seamless setup, reliable performance, and long-term support. Certified companies also commit to ongoing firmware updates and to being active participants in the Home Assistant community.

Apollo has certified the following devices:

  • MTR-1 Multi-Target Radar Multisensor – A compact mmWave presence sensor with built-in environmental monitoring for advanced smart home automation.

  • MSR-2 mmWave Multisensor – The next evolution of our community-designed smart sensor, offering precise motion detection and presence sensing in a smaller form factor.

  • AIR-1 Air Quality Sensor – A versatile air quality monitor that can be expanded with additional sensor modules for a complete environmental monitoring solution.

This is just the beginning. We plan to expand our Home Assistant-certified product lineup, bringing even more innovative solutions to the smart home automation market.

What This Means for Home Assistant Users

With Works With Home Assistant certification, Apollo devices now offer:

  • Effortless device discovery within Home Assistant.

  • Easy setup with seamless Wi-Fi integration.

  • One-click firmware updates directly from Home Assistant.

  • Reliable, local-first smart home automation without reliance on cloud services.

Apollo Automation is excited to continue growing within the Home Assistant ecosystem and supporting the future of open-source smart home technology. Stay tuned for more updates as we expand our certified product lineup and bring new innovations to the smart home community.
