Who We Are
Founded in 2023 and based in Versailles, Kentucky, Apollo Automation designs and manufactures smart IoT sensors for home automation, including motion detection, air quality, and plant health monitoring devices. Our products are fully local, open-source, and require no cloud subscription, seamlessly integrating with platforms like Home Assistant and Homey. We are committed to making reliable, privacy-respecting smart home technology accessible while keeping innovation and production rooted in the USA.
Our Inspiration
Apollo Automation was born out of frustration with the lack of high-quality, transparent, and locally made sensors on the market. What started as a weekend hobby project quickly gained traction within the open-source community. Inspired by this momentum, we decided to turn Apollo into a full-time venture with a mission to do things differently.
Our Journey So Far
From a small workshop in Kentucky, Apollo Automation has grown into a full-fledged operation with multiple product lines and a global customer base. Our biggest challenge has been scaling manufacturing while maintaining our core values of transparency and local production. Our greatest success has been cultivating a passionate community of users and contributors who actively help shape our products.
Looking Ahead
We are continuing to expand our product lineup and venture into commercial and industrial sensing markets. Within a year, we aim to be recognized as a leading name in privacy-first smart sensors and a trusted partner for integrators and builders seeking flexible, local alternatives to cloud-dependent solutions.
