Bought this to monitor outdoor temps on my porch with Home Assistant and I'm happy with it overall. ESPHome integration is fully local, setup was painless, and the DS18B20 external probe is a big step up from the onboard board sensor. Lots of useful entities exposed out of the box — probe temp, board temp/humidity, offsets, sleep duration, alarm thresholds.
The one gripe: Its not very accurate compared to a calibrated themometer. It read consistently low compared to my reference thermometer, roughly 0.5–2°F, so I had to calibrate it. There's a built-in "Temp Probe Offset" number entity for this, which is nice, but figuring out that it existed and taking enough paired readings to trust the offset was more work than I expected. Not hard, just tedious.
If you want a local, no-cloud outdoor temp sensor with a real probe, this is a good buy — just budget an afternoon for dialing it in.
