mmWave Radar Sensor (HLK-ld2410b)

  • 1 Target tracking
  • Very good still detection
  • Very good tuning capability
  • Ability to tune out false positives

LUX and UV Sensor (LTR-390UV)

Temperature  / Pressure Sensor (DPS310)

Provides accurate readings of temperature, and pressure. The pressure enhances the readings from the CO2 sensor. Note: The ESP32-C3 in constant WiFi connection generates significant heat; you might need to adjust the offset based on your setup and the temperature/humidity won't be as good as a dedicated sensor with less heat build up.

C02 Sensor (Optional SCD-40)

  • True CO2 sensing

Bluetooth Tracker(ESP32-C3-Mini) - YAML Config Required

Track Bluetooth devices in your house, letting you know which devices are closest to the sensor. You will need to know the MAC of the Bluetooth devices you want to track.

  • Find your phone if you left it in the office or the bedroom.
  • Know who just walked into the room.
  • Track a beacon attached to your dog's collar.

Feature packed, hard to tune

I bought these because when looking for presence sensors, these kept coming up. In short: seems like they’d be great if I could dial in the settings. They’re not very intuitive. Until then, I’ll keep having lights go on and off randomly (instead of auto off/on when I’m in/leave an area) via my automations. A simpler gui would make this product perfect. As is now, gotta find time to really tune it if you want it to work as desired.

Cool Sensor, but several shortcomings

I bought gpio header hoping I could hook up a IR diode, but it doesn't work out of the box due to the RGB LED. Also I bought a swivel mount, and its not compatible with the GPIO header, dang. Finally, its not well calibrated out the box, so I haven't had a chance to fully dig in and set it up.

MSR-2 Presense sensor.

I was looking for an unobtrusive mmwave presence sensor. My primary target was a bathroom, but I trialed it in my office. I would have preferred Zigbee or Zwave as opposed to Wifi, but the ESPHome platform is completely reliable for me so far. I put minimal time in to restrict detection when people walk by in the hall. There' a lot more to this unit than I'm using, but it's 100% reliable detecting me at my desk and keeping the lights on and turning them off automatically.

Easy to Use and Integrate

This was something I waited too long to purchase. I loved how simple it was to open the box, plug it in, and integrate right into home assistant.

Fantastic Little Sensor!

I've really loved the MSR-2. I've had it going for about two weeks now and it really is a powerful little sensor with lots of cool features. I've been using it primarily for on and off light automations and it has been top notch. Tuning the radar was pretty easy, and it does great picking up motion and stillness. I've got some unique use case challenges with cats and the senor pointed directly at a large couch - but even with those issues it's still working wonderfully. I would highly recommend and I will definitely be purchasing more for other areas in the house.
