As one of the first companies building ESPHome-based smart home devices to receive official Works With Home Assistant certification, we are beyond grateful to be part of a growing open-source community focused on privacy-first, local smart home automation.

A Community-Driven Journey

In our short video, we shared how Apollo Automation started as a group of friends in Kentucky frustrated with the lack of high-quality presence and environmental sensors. What began as a weekend project to build a better mmWave presence sensor quickly grew into a full-fledged smart home hardware company. Thanks to the support and feedback of the Home Assistant community, we were able to refine our products, grow our team, and expand our lineup to meet real-world automation needs.

Why Works With Home Assistant Matters

Joining the Works With Home Assistant program is about more than a badge; it’s a commitment to building devices that work seamlessly, locally, and reliably in the Home Assistant ecosystem. It ensures our sensors are tested, certified, and trusted by the very community we’ve always aimed to serve.

Thank You to the Community

From our earliest prototypes to our latest certified products like the MSR-2, MTR-1, and AIR-1, none of this would be possible without you, the developers, testers, creators, and users who believed in open standards and better smart home solutions.

We’re proud to be part of this movement and look forward to continuing to build open, private, and powerful smart home hardware that just works.

Let’s keep growing together.
